    1.b Western Ghats
  •            Sahyadris is a range of mountain s in southern India,also known as WEST GHATS.
  •  The range starts near the border of Gujarat and Maharashtra, south of the Tapti river, and runs approximately 1600 km through the states of Maharashtra, Goa ,Karnataka,Tamil Nadu and Kerala ending at kanyakumari.
  • The Highest point is Anamudi (Eravikulam ,Idukki)
  • The lowest point is Palakkad gap(Palakkad)

  • The range is called Sahyadri in northern Maharashtra and Sahya Parvatam in Kerala.
